Stand Up Paddling in Oludeniz
$25 per person
Oludeniz is arguably the most iconic spot in Turkey for Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP). With its crystal-clear turquoise water and the protection of the surrounding mountains, the conditions are often “lake-like,” making it perfect for both beginners and seasoned paddlers.
Best Spots to Paddle
The Blue Lagoon (Oludeniz Kumburnu)
This is the crown jewel. The inner lagoon is shallow, warm, and strictly protected from high winds and waves. It’s ideal for SUP Yoga or for those finding their balance for the first time.
Belcekız Beach (The Main Beach)
This is the long stretch where paragliders land. The water here is deeper and can get a bit “choppy” in the afternoon. It’s great for a more athletic workout or paddling toward the nearby sea caves.
St. Nicholas Island (Gemiler)
For the adventurous, some local tours offer boat trips that drop you off near Gemiler Island. Paddling around ancient Byzantine ruins half-submerged in the sea is an unbeatable experience.
Timing is Everything
Early Morning (7:00 AM – 10:00 AM): The “Golden Window.” The water is like glass, the heat is manageable, and the crowds haven’t arrived yet. You’ll have the best visibility to see the marine life below.
Sunset: Paddling out as the sun dips behind the mountains provides incredible photo opportunities, though the water can be slightly busier with excursion boats returning to shore.
